In support of District Child Protection Society (DCPS) & DSWO, Malda, and Malda Sahayogita Samiti served for Basic education & Life skill education. This is a step of mainstreaming them. After releasing form Shaishali Home, it will help them to continue their education for better future.
MSS organized some VLCPC Awareness Meeting from April to March 2020 in Mangalbari, Bhabuk & Jatradanga GP of Old Malda Blocks and Ratua 1 & Ratua 2 Blocks. Through those programs the members of VLCPCs that have been formed in 25 sansads of those GP for child protection were shared how they will identify the vulnerable children and vulnerable parents in their villages, how they protect the vulnerable family and the children, how they will continue their observation for all the years and keep safe their villages.
Vision : To reduce the vulnerability of children trafficked or migrated from Malda region to work in the carpet/ weaving/ textile sectors through support and rehabilitation programs. With focus on such children who have been identified by GoodWeave India Trust as child labor.
GoodWeave India will work with Malda Sahayogita Samiti to undertake the rehabilitation process and monitor the progress of rehabilitated child labor in Malda region. MSS will take follow up on already rehabilitated 7 children by GoodWeave India in Malda in month of May 2018. MSS carry out the rehabilitation process for these supported children who were sent to Malda district by GWI. The activities are visiting children and parents and their counseling, preparing children and parents to resume/start education, enrollment of children in school, identifying the challenges, barriers and education related needs of children and do the necessary needful to resolve them in consultation with GWI. MSS need to prepare and update individual file for each child. The frequency of follow up with the children, parents /guardians and teachers is twice in a month and visit school of each rehabilitated child once in a month to know the education status, school attendance record and progress of the child.
MSS has been implementing on the SVP activity with the help of Operation Red Alert and supported My Choices Foundation in the GP areas in Malda District. Hundred vulnerable villages (as per Govt. of India) have been selected to conduct SVP activity. It is an awareness programme on Prevention of child trafficking, early marriage, child labour, domestic violence, child abuse and dropout through LCD presentation & movie screening and distribution of Leaflet.
In the nearest high school of the selected village the students are sensitized on bad effects of child trafficking, early marriage, child labour, domestic violence, child abuse and dropout and each of them is given a “Comic Book” for adolescents and leaflet for parents with stakeholders, related to child protection and some helpline numbers and department names to save themselves.
After High School Program the community people are mobilized on child protection In nearest Primary school or ICDS centre or community hall. During the program the participants were given leaflets. For father participates the title of the leaflet was “Valo Pita” and for Mather “Abogato Maa”.
There are 45 persons and their families living in the Village. They collected dust from gold jewellery making shop in Malda. During Covid pandemic all jewellery they had no earnings. Our organization’s volunteers and members identified the vulnerable area and helped the families with the essential amenities. Distribution Date – 24-06-2020
Right To Food & Work Campaign, West Bengal was requested by Malda Sahayogita Samiti a member of (RTF) for relief for the people of Malda during COVID-19 Pandemic. The authority gave green signal for the relief and sanctioned the relief.
Malda Sahayogita Samiti (MSS) distributed relief of Food at 8 places in Malda District.
The most people benefitted by the relief work were Schedule Tribes (ST), SC, Minority and General People. MSS by its volunteer and network prepared a list of beneficiaries and distributed relief in villages. MSS put strength to provide foods to PWDs, Widows, Old aged, Seek, Migrant labour, Special Category of Flying Female Sex Worker and child labour families. Among the receivers there were people who did not have digital ration card. Some of them had token/slip and most of them didn’t. MSS provided all of them in its list and distributed the relief.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic & Lockdown throughout Courtney an emergency of food and awareness is the prime demand of our MSS works in different Block of Malda District in various issues of backwards class people during last 3 decades in this pandemic situation MSS firstly assed the situation thorough its Networks and the end the organisation realised the need of relief like food and hygiene.
GOONJ made contact with MSS and finally relief distribution was implemented at 15 villages of Bhabuk Gram Panchayat and 6 villages of Jatradanga Gram panchayat in Old Malda Block. Among the beneficiaries MSS selected pregnant women, orphan children, widow, migrant labour families, trafficked & raped survivors, Person with Disabilities.
We have selected vulnerable families & individual in our working area (Block- Old Malda, GP- Jatradanga & Bhabuk) in Malda district through our village level volunteers. In the 1st phase we have distributed 75 food kits. This kit were distributed among vulnerable & migrate labour families, disable, orphan children among two GPs.
The kit consists of Rice-10 kg, Motor Pulse-3kg, Veg. Oil-1000ml, Soyabin chunk-200 gm, Salt- 1kg, Turmeric powder-100gm, Soap-2 pieces.
Distribution on 20th April at Popra Iswarlal High School -26 Kit (village covered Simuldanga, Turturia, Popra, Hatgachi, Boro Gabtuli & Majhilkha) of Jatradanga GP and 21st April at Basudevpur village – 9 kits and 8 Kit distributed of 36 migrated labours form the State of Jharkhand, District- Sahebganj and 4 labours form Gangarampur Municipality of Dakshin Dinajpur District in WB. We have provided 8 (eight) food kits to all 40 migrated people at Chirakuthi & Shimuldhap villages of Bhabuk GP in Old Malda Block.
5th May & 7th May 2020 the relief work and distribution was done. 5th May was present Mr. Shanti Nath Panja, IC-Malda Police Station and Bina Batobal, ANM, Basudevpur Health Sub-Center, 5 ASHA Worker, Mr. Dhrubo Chatterjee, Head Teacher of Basudevpur Sukandighi Primary School, Health Supervisor on 5th May at Sonajhuri village in Bhabuk GP during distribution. Under this relief work 199 families were benefited.
Malda Sahayogita Samiti (MSS) works for the development of Adolescent Girls in Malda. During lockdown regarding COVID-19 Pandemic throughout the country. MSS could not remain inactive. During this period MSS community facilitator / workers with the adolescent girls at Ratua-1, Ratua-2 & Old Malda Block of Malda District. The following table refers the campaign program month of May 2020.
During this campaign with adolescent girls MSS made awareness on COVID-19 use of sanitizer and hygiene maintenance and keeping physical distancing. Besides this, MSS had provided all the girls a sanitary napkin & soap.
The whole program was organised with physical distancing, using sanitizer and govt. norms.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Govt. has declared lockdown many times. So, No Work, No Food and every day increase are Food Crisis. So our organization MSS sent a request to JDF for food support and JDF provide 13 food items for them. JIV Daya Foundation has extended their helping hand to the said villages’ people during this Corona crisis situation through our organization.
Jiv Daya Foundation (JDF) made contact with MSS and finally relief distribution was implemented at 6 villages of Bhabuk Gram Panchayat and Jatradanga Gram panchayat in Old Malda Block. Among the beneficiaries MSS selected are ST villages.
We have selected above 650 vulnerable families & individual in our working area (Block- Old Malda, GP- Jatradanga & Bhabuk) in Malda district through our village level volunteers. In the 1st phase we have distributed 300 food kits. These kits were distributed among vulnerable & ST/SC Migrant & Day labour, women headed & old age families affected by COVID19 Difficult Times among two GPs.
Distribution on 14th October 2020 at Popra Iswarlal High School campus – 136 Kit (village covered Simuldanga, Turturia, Goalbari) of Jatradanga GP and 15th October 2020 at Popra Iswarlal High School campus – 136 Kit (village covered village of Goalbari, Gabtuli, Bagmara of Jatradanga GP & Ijjatpur Bhabuk GP) and rest of 28 kit distribution at Banjhapara village an evening on 15th October 2020 (Village covered Banjhapara of Bhabuk GP in Old Malda Block.
Due to Corona Pandemic situation, community people have no income. As a result they are suffering different types of problems. Food crisis is one of them. JIV Daya foundation extended their helping hand to 6 village’s people. Ijjatpur Gram Panchayat Member Mr. Jetha Hansda & ASHA Worker Smt. Commission Murmu said that in this crisis situation, this dry food support is very important for their poor family. The beneficiaries felt very happy to received supplementary items of food.
At the end of the program, all village people said that they want JDF support against vegetable garden, mushroom cultivation and Goat rearing, RIR hen and Khanki Camble duck farming for their sustainable livelihood.
